Expert Presentation – The Use of Reference Ecosystems in Ecological Restoration 

Australian Association of Bush Regenerators (AABR) engaged Wildsite to deliver a presentation on the use of reference ecosystems in ecological restoration to the AABR AGM 2022.

The use of reference ecosystems to guide ecological restoration is a fundamental principle in the National standards for the practice of ecological restoration in Australia. However, reference ecosystems are poorly understood and rarely used effectively. This presentation provides a background to reference ecosystems and compares examples where they have been used effectively or not at all.
